Our indoor arena is 72’ x 210’ (just slightly larger than a 20 x 60 meter dressage arena), with enough head clearance for jumping. Our footing is a mix of sand and Perma-Flex rubber, formulated to meet the needs of both dressage riders and lower-level jumper riders. The indoor arena allows us to continue to train no matter what the weather, and the large windows in the heated Boarders’ Lounge provide a view of the activity in the indoor arena.
However, for the many days when it’s nice enough to ride outside, we have an outdoor arena that is 80 x 200 with sand footing. We set the jumps in the outdoor arena in the summer, freeing the indoor arena for unobstructed schooling on the flat. In the winter, boarders are free to set up the jumps in the indoor arena, as long as the jumps do not interfere with other riders.
