We provide full-care board for all of our clients. Each horse has his or her own assigned stall with attached run. We do not offer pasture board or self-care board. Our Facilities page describes the facilities available to our boarders and their horses.
Horses are fed hay and grain in their stalls twice daily. They also get a late-morning feeding (brunch) of hay, in their stalls or in turnout, and a flake of hay at bedtime.
We will work with you to design a feeding program suitable to your horse's age, health, and fitness. We offer a variety of feeds, including Senior feed. Boarders may provide their own grain or pelleted feed. We will feed supplements along with the morning and/or evening meal at no additional cost if they are provided in Smartpaks or in individual servings for each meal.
We blanket and unblanket at the morning and evening feedings, based on owners' instructions and the weather report.
We try to turn out each horse every day (unless you want your horse to be left in), but the number of days of turn out per week (and hours per day) depends on the weather and pasture conditions.
The owners of Liberty Farms live in a house on the property and are at the barn daily. The Liberty Farms caretaker lives in apartment attached to the barn, and does the feeding, stall cleaning, turn out, and other chores. We have several other employees who help out on the weekend.
If your horse requires medicating or hand walking, or needs to be held for the farrier or vet, you can arrange those services with us.
